About Justin Hayward

David Justin Hayward (born October 14, 1946, in Swindon, Wiltshire, England) is a seminal English rock and progressive rock singer, guitarist and songwriter. He was lead vocalist and primary writer for The Moody Blues, penning hits like “Nights in White Satin,” “Tuesday Afternoon,” and “Your Wildest Dreams.” He’s sold over 70 million albums with the band, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 and appointed OBE in 2022. His latest release is a symphonic cover single of “Life in a Northern Town” with Mike Batt (March 2025), which includes a live version of Moody Blues’ “Hope and Pray.”
